Hi Treonne,

I know how frustrating it can be to want to do something, but your height is getting in the way.
The good news is that you are still only 14, which means that your body is still going to grow quite a bit. But during this stage of growth it is very important to get as much nutrition as you can to help strengthen your bones and aid your body in the production of HGH (human growth hormone).

Your end height does, however, depend on genetics (how tall your parents and their parents are). Generally you will be as tall as your father or his father was. So what I would suggest is follow a healthy diet, avoiding alcohol, smoking and other unhealthy things that teenagers are sometimes exposed to, and it will give your body the best chance of reaching its full height potential.

Let me know if you need anything else.

I'm fifteen and I'm 5'3. My dad is 5'10 and my mom is 5'1. So on average, i should be around 5'5-5'6. but I'm not, so in hopes of growing another 3-4 inches, I've been drinking 3-4 glasses of milk everyday, taking calcium pills everyday, as well as doing stretches every moment that I could for the past month. I dont see any difference yet, but do you think its possible for me to continue to grow?

A good start in your quest on how to become taller, is to stop eating so much junk food and avoid habits that are harmful to your healthy. So, quit the smoking, avoid drinking too much alcohol, stay away from sugary sweets and sodas, and avoid eating foods high in salt or simple carbohydrates.

I'm thirteen and I'm now only 4"8" and my parents are 5"2". Is there still a chance for me to grow taller than them? Because I've reached puberty already and I have been playing basketball since I was 9(with hope that it'll make me grow taller). I was wondering if you could be so kind to recommend any food or drink for me to consume so that I can grow to my maximum potential.

Cecily,

A lack of iron will not necessarily stunt your growth, however, iron DOES help speed up your growth.

Meat is not the only source of iron out there. In fact, spinach has 15 TIMES MORE iron per 100 grams than a sirloin steak! So what other sources of iron are there?

Well, from best to worst - as a vegetarian you can get your iron from:

- Cooked Soybeans, Lentils, Spinach, Quinoa (this is a type of grain that is very high in protein too), Lima beans, Swiss chard, Black beans, Pinto beans, Chickpeas, Potato, Kidney beans, Peas, Black-eyed peas, Brussels sprouts, Bok choy, Green beans, and Broccoli - just to name a few :)

AND UNCOOKED FOODS:
- Tofu, Prune juice, Tahini, Cashews, Raisins, Almonds, Dried Apricots, Watermelon, Tomato juice, Sunflower seeds, and Sesame seeds...

So you can see, Cecily, there are numerous vegetarian sources of iron out there. Hope this list helps :)
